I received a book in format "djv". I wonder how I can open it on SuSE. There should be an equivalent tool like Acrobat for reading such files, I guess .. I am still running SuSE 10.3. Sorry, I am lagging behind ... no time for back-ups and installations right now. Thank you very much. djv is an image format. "display" should be able to show it (and I guess any other image viewer as well) Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I assume that is short for djvu.

You have to install djvulibre. It is included in the distro, but not installed by default. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DjVu http://djvu.sourceforge.net/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/djvu/ It is indeed a very good format for scanned images, in my opinion better than PDF (which is better for computer generated text, as it renders fonts). But it is not widely known, and creating the files is not simple. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
