I know it's not a fix, but I use OpenOffice with doc files all the time and I don't have to save them first. I can open right from the e-mail, in Mozilla and it starts up OO just fine. Same applies to XLS and PPS files. I also use Reiser.

I am using KMail, and if I try to snap on the attachment, it will open the file, but not allow me to print it, scroll, etc. WP will hang the machine instantly if I do that. OO just doesn't work right this way--or in any usefull fashion the last few days. --doug
