[opensuse] Pinnalce TV capture card troubles
I have SUSE 10.3 with 2.6.22.13-0.3-default A few weeks ago we had a power failure. I have a big UPS and the machine keeps running. However, the 10-hour outage exceeded the UPS capacity and so the machine was off for day. When I brought it back up I noticed that my Pinnacle TV capture card (and old one) no longer was working properly. A channel change would not work for most channels. A few channels still worked but not many. The card was so old that it only had mono-audio output. I borrowed a newer Pinnalcle card to see if it work as my eventual goal is to purchase a HDTV capture card. However, the newer card hangs my machine on boot and the keyboard caps/lck and Num/Lck don't even work. Hard hang. This is the last few lines that I see on the screen where it hangs. <6>bttv: driver version 0.9.17 loaded <6>bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture <6>intel8x0_measure_ac97_clock: measured 52839 usecs <6>intel8x0: clocking to 48000 <6>usb 1-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3 <6>bttv: Bt8xx card found (0). <6>ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:05:01.0[A] -> GSI 21 (level, low) -> IRQ 23 <6>bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 0000:05:01.0, irq: 23, latency: 32, mmio: 0xfdbff000 <6>bttv0: detected: Pinnacle PCTV [bswap] [card=39], PCI subsystem ID is bd11:1200 However, I noticed that the boot.omsg log goes on further with the following added lines: <7>bttv0: gpio: en=00000000, out=00000000 in=00ff3bff [init] <6>bt878 #0 [sw]: Test OK <6>bttv0: i2c: checking for MSP34xx @ 0x80... not found <6>bttv0: miro: id=14 tuner=2 radio=no stereo=no <4>bttv0: using tuner=2 <6>bttv0: i2c: checking for MSP34xx @ 0x80... not found <6>bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9875 @ 0xb0... not found <6>bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA7432 @ 0x8a... not found <6>bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9887 @ 0x86... not found <6>usb 1-2: new device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=c501 <4>tuner 1-0060: All bytes are equal.
