-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm trying to get Spamassassin (spamd / spamc) working with K-Mail. I've installed the package from my SuSE 8.2 DVD. I started spamd from the Runlevel Editor - and rcspamd status shows that it *IS* running. My KMail Filter has the following: Where Size < 250000 pipe through /usr/binspamc It's followed by a filter to move Spam to another folder. The problem is that it doesn't seem to be doing *ANYTHING*. I can see in /var/log/mail where the spamd daemon started. No other messages. I don't see anything in the headers of the messages I'm receiving. (Note: I'm not running ProcMail, but from what I read on the web, I thought this setup *SHOULD* work). Obviously I left something out. Where do I go from here? tia -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+0OpSjeziQOokQnARAtJAAJ0aZlG7xDeAs1/i4qt46ztbd7p1TwCgrsmP FKJT/6MvkWpCN3XT+k0ZI4s= =TeQn -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

That should do it. I just checked my wife's machine (where I run spamc from a filter) and it uses: <any header> pipe through <path to>spamc and that's it. Why don't you try to do a manual test of: spamc < <piece of bad mail> > <file> and see if it works.

Found it. I didn't think about doing a manual test. When I did, it was working fine. That showed me that I must have had the filter wrong. Closer examination showed a space where it shouldn't have been. That fixed it. Of course, the other 'gotcha' would be the check box in the filters about 'stop here after processing' which would negate your 2nd filter... :-) -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
