All of this *utterly destroys* the elegant select/middle-mouse paste efficiency that Linux developers worked so hard to brilliantly create. NEW FEATURES ARE BUGS IF THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN THEM OFF! How do I fix this problem??

Did you even try this? http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2011-11/msg01456.html
Yes, I had that extension before, but on one of the last FF moves ?? 3->4, 4->5, etc.. it got nixed, so I would like to find some non-extension solution rather than having to rely on 3rd party extensions that might not be there next update... Thanks Felix! I'll install it again. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

The extension system was recently revamped to cause fewer extensions to become incompatible due to Mozilla's rapid development cycle's version increments. Not all extensions have conformed yet, but most of the most popular ones have had it, and this is probably one. I'm actually using it with SeaMonkey 2.5, and don't copy/paste from FF very often. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Copy Plain Text 0.3.3 Last Updated: 03/05/2007 :( There is a 'Copy Pure Text', but that is simply an addition to the context menu and doesn't operate on the 'select' buffer without a key-combination or context menu selection. Installing it, you can copy by (1) select, then (2) rt.click to bring up context, then (3) select copy as text (or ctrl+shift+c to eliminate steps 2-3, but that requires switching from mouse -> keyboard -> mouse), then you CAN (4) actually middle-mouse paste w/o formatting. So the ctrl+shift+c must update the selection buffer with the contents of the stripped contents in the clipboard. An improvement, but still not a simple (1) select, (2) middle-mouse paste.... -- David C.
