8.2 in the works, how 'bout a PowerPC port?
All the talk of Intel and AMD jumping on board with Palladium has made me want to try a new platform. Now that there are non-Apple, standard ATX motherboards for the PowerPC, I was thinking of trying that. Looks like SuSE hasn't released a PowerPC version since November 2001. Anyone know if one's in the works or should you use Yellow Dog or something else for the PowerPC? Jason Joines Open Source = Open Mind ========================

Sure we have. There's SLES for 32 and 64 bit PPC. -- -ckm

Nope, the relatively small market doesn't justify the cost of making a full blown consumer release. Philipp -- Philipp Thomas work: pthomas@suse.de Development SuSE Linux AG private: pth@t-link.de

Do you have any info. that indicates there's a way to "defeat" Palladium? That is, turn it off, or whaever. Thanks, Fred -- Fred A. Miller Systems Administrator Cornell Univ. Press Services fm@cupserv.org, www.cupserv.org
