apt-get - ximian stuff removed?
I've had an issue the past few days with apt-get update blowing up. Seems like I can fix it by removing the ximian entry from the source entry. Has something changes in the apt repository like ximian packages being removed for some reason? -- John LeMay KC2KTH Senior Enterprise Consultant NJMC | http://www.njmc.com | Phone 732-557-4848 Specializing in Microsoft and Unix based solutions

here's the latest sources.list for 8.1 with no ximian # # Repository created by: aptate (version 0.64.2) # At: Mit Apr 9 20:19:52 MEST 2003 # More info about aptate at: http://apt4rpm.sourceforge.net # rpm ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt SuSE/8.1-i386 kde suser-kpietrz suse-people base update-prpm update gnome2 xfree86 mozilla extra usr-local-bin suser-tcousin funktronics packman packman-i686 mantel-kernel wine kde3-stable security-prpm security rpm-src ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt SuSE/8.1-i386 kde suser-kpietrz suse-people base update-prpm update gnome2 xfree86 mozilla extra usr-local-bin suser-tcousin funktronics packman packman-i686 mantel-kernel wine kde3-stable security-prpm security Apparantly it has changed(ie no more ximian with apt) but there is no justification for it on the apt site. On a different note I did notice that the sources.list for 8.2 are posted. Man, I'm already falling behind. -- Franklin Maurer Using SuSE 8.1

No updates since months, due to no access at ximian, and the gwdg disks are getting full... If you miss the ximian component inform the gwdg ftp admin. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

Actually I haven't had ximian in sources.list since it messed up my system the first time I ran apt-get, a long, long time ago, back when I needed your help getting it to work. I wouldn't have noticed it if John hadn't mentioned it. But it's nice to know there's someone to complain to or "inform". :-) -- Franklin Maurer Using SuSE 8.1
