[SLE] Anybody having luck with KDE2 Alpha?
I am so wrapped around the axel I don't have time to play with this right now, but I am VERY excited about the new KDE2. Any tails to tell? I have a tale. No tail though. :-) I grabbed the latest binary package (04042000) and installed it. It fell about left right and centre, saying it couldn't find MIME types and all sorts of other things. I grabbed the source and compiled it myself. It's *huge*! My machine will compile my Linux kernel in under 3 minutes, but KDE2 still took a couple of hours. And the result? Well, a pile of compile time errors, which I wrestled with, and eventually got to the point where my binaries did exactly what the precompiled ones did. My conclusion was that it's not ready for even knowledgeable enthusiasts to play with yet. Mosfet's screen shots look pretty good though. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
