GCC 3.3 problem again
Hey Group; A very fresh (yesterday) install of SuSE8.2 with gcc 3.3 from the CDs and the latest NVidia .run file for Linux IA32 from "www.nvidia.com". Guess what! It states in /var/log/ that "It appear that the kernel source was compile with a different compiler" and it fails. Of course I did compile the SuSE kernel source with gcc 3.3 and "make cloneconfig" which built the kernel and System.map but fails to compile modules. It does fail modules at the same place. -- 73 de Donn Washburn __ " http://www.hal-pc.org/~n5xwb " Ham Callsign N5XWB / / __ __ __ __ __ __ __ 307 Savoy St. / /__ / / / \/ / / /_/ / \ \/ / Sugar Land, TX 77478 /_____/ /_/ /_/\__/ /_____/ /_/\_\ LL# 1.281.242.3256 a MSDOS Virus "Free Zone" OS Email: n5xwb@hal-pc.org Info: http://www.knoppix.net

And guess what? The compiler isn't at fault here! Blame the people at Nvidia for writing their scripts like they do. Philipp
