Hi Carl,
I using hylafax as server/client system with SUSE and FEDORA linux boxes. It's working for me.
You are need - one computer with fax machite, server, and others will be hylafax clients. Client can be under Windows platform also.
Nikolai I installed hylafax from the 9.1 cd's I setup a new printer in OOo print administration. I try to print to fax and I am prompted for the fax number. Then nothing.
All I need to do is send faxes. I can do so in Legacy on this machine so it is not hardware.

That explains it. i can not do what I want. hat I need is any program which will allow me to print to fax from within OOo using my external modem on the same machine. I have done this simple task since win311. Until now I have not attempted it in Suse so I do not know if it is even possible. -- ___ _ _ _ ____ _ _ _ | | | | [__ | | | |___ |_|_| ___] | \/

Regards,
You don't mention which version of SuSE you are using. If you are using 9.3 take a look at mondo/mindi for backup/restore. You can use it to backup CD/DVD/tape/harddrive. If you backup to DVD you will need to create an iso on a harddrive first as the current version will not backup to DVD directly yet. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge

A little typo. Used to backup -to- CD/DVD/tape etc. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge

Installed via YaST but can't find it anywhere in the gnome menu's. Tried Run Application - no mondo. Mindi didn't do anything. What am I missing ? -- SynapseR -- Suse9.3eR

It's not in the menus. Open up console and type mondoarchive. It is a text based program. Just follow the prompts, it is very easy to follow. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge

Also, it needs to be run as root. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge
