[opensuse] FreeNX on openSUSE11.3 not working/connecting
Hi list and gurus :-) - on my plain vanilla openSUSE11.3 I install FreeNX server & client through the one-click-install from the web. - connecting to my box fails...it 'cannot connect to X server' or something like that. The environment variable DISPLAY is empty. - If I download and use Nomachine's *free* NX server, all is ok. - I don't want to use that version, however. I much prefer the FreeNX edition. I've been able to confirm the problem on 2 other new openSUSE11.3 machines. Anyone? As always, thank you! Best regards, Verner K. Denmark. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Best regards, Verner K. Denmark. I am using FreeNX fine on OSS 11.3.just fine. The version I have is FreeNX-0.7.3-6.5.i586. What do you see in the logs?

Thank you for your answer, I apologize for not having answered until now... The logs (I don't have access to them anymore) said something about: 'could not connect to X-server' I didn't understand this. I then did a re-install of FreeNX on the system...and now everything works... I did a google search for the exact message and I found lots of similar posts - but no answers. - I will rest the case for now and get back if the ghost reappears. - thank you for your efforts!
