After upgrading to KDE 3.2, the susewatcher icon has disappeared. How do I turn this on again? TIA, Mike ------------------------------- Cleary_Mike@emc.com ------------------------------- A wink is as good as a nod to a blind horse.

TIA,
Mike
Manually reinstall kdebase3-SuSE_9.0-80_i586.rpm as root with rpm -Uvh kdebase3-SuSE_9.0-80_i586.rpm KPackage will also reinstall it. Patiently wait for an update from SUSE to fix the conflict for KDE 3.2... might be SUSE 9.1 though. Only issue will be that YaST and apt/synaptic will complain about dependencies every time you run them. They'll delete kdebase3-SuSE and you'll just have to re-install it then run SuSEconfig and ldconfig (all as root). Unless someone has a better way this is what I'm doing. Stan

I don't remember which version you have, but in 8.2 kdebase3 obsoletes kde-SuSE, which contains susewatcher, along with many other useful programs, themes, etc. Assuming you installed via apt-get or Yast, it probably uninstalled kde-SuSE because of the conflict. Hopefully SuSE might someday make that package compatible with 3.2 so we can have that functionality again, but until that time it is the cost of running the latest. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. If you try to install kdebase3-SuSE through yast2 or apt-get on kde3.2 , you get plenty of dependency errors. However, if you simply download the package from the SuSe ftp site (ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.0/suse/i586)through any ftp client, and then install it with rpm -Uvh kdebase3-SuSE-9.0-80.i586.rpm, you don't get any errors, and get suSEwatcher back.
