There are problems with libraries on occasions. I very strongly recommend that you do not muck with them unless you really know what you are doing, especially libc.so... The .so libraries are shared any are used by just about every running application in your system. /lib (on Linux and Unix systems) contain the libraries needed in single user mode whenthe /usr file system may not be mounted. /usr/lib contains most of the other libraries except for those specific to some applications. removing a shared library could render your system unusable. Traditionally, programs in /sbin and /usr/sbin can run without shared libraries, but most Unix systems have changed this. Rohit wrote:
