No. Maybe run fetchmail manually with -vv and look what happens: $ fetchmail -vv -- Andreas

Similar. First, that entry is incomplete, it should be:" 501 Bad address syntax". The $ I guess is the newline indicator. That message is incorrect, and can not be retrieved, so it was left on the server. I had to use my isp webmail to see it. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

it turn out to be a spam forging the headers, so fetchmail did good

Yes, same here; but I was forced to see the mail using the web browser and delete it. Another alternative is disabling fetchmail and use Netscape to fetch it - unless it is a big one. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
