OS: SuSE 9.3 Pro Postfix: v2.2.1 I was trying to recompile postfix from the SuSE-supplied source rpm to add mysql support but ran into the following dependencies: cvs ncurses-devel rcs texinfo Not finding the binary rpms anywhere, I did find source rpms for all but ncurses-devel but did find ncurses. However, upon trying to build these from source, I find each interdependent on the others, making the build fail. For example, the ncurses build requires cvs, rcs and texinfo; the cvs build requires ncurses-devel, rcs and texinfo; the rcs build requires all four and texinfo requires cvs, rcs and texinfo. Where can I find prebuilt binaries for these or, alternatively, get out of this circular dependency problem? Thank you, Lucky Leavell

Huh? ncurses-devel is on the DVD. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

I installed from CDs and then set the secondary install source to the University of Chicago FTP mirror assuming whatever was missing from the CDs would be on the FTP site. (At least this seemed to work fine for 9.2.) Perhaps not all FTP mirrors are created equal.? Thank you, Lucky

Ah! But I don't think the FTP tree is complete yet: not till a month or two after release of 9.3, usually. They give themselves a bit of advantage so you have to buy instead of downloading, if you are in a hurry to install the shiny new suse version ;-) I haven't checked, but that is what they usually do. -- Cheers, Carlos
