[opensuse] attention: bug in gnome-update package gtk2-2.8.10-48
hi, i found this very annoying bug in the latest gtk2-package gtk2-2.8.10-48, which is available from the supplementary gnome-update for 10.1: the gtk-file-chooser forgets the file-name every time! so if you download a file with firefox, and then select "save to disk" the gtk-file-chooser appears, but the file-name is lost. regardless if you select a folder or create a new one, or simply do nothing. the file-name is lost immediately when the gtk-file-chooser appears! when downgrading to gtk2-2.8.10-36 the problem disappears. -- einen schönen Tag noch DI Rainer Klier Abteilung IT - Entwicklung ECOLOG Logistiksysteme GmbH Bauernstraße 11, A-4600 Wels Tel. ++43/7242/66200 Fax ++43/7242/66200-200 mailto:kra@ecolog.at http://www.ecolog.at --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org

You're not the only one, this is already known in bugzilla (multiple times, actually). Andreas Hanke --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org

And serves as a salutary reminder that bugzilla, not this list, is the correct place to post bug reports. of course i checked bugzilla before. and i found similar bugs with the file-chooser, but not this bug.

yes, i know that. but my main intention was to warn other users not to install gtk2-2.8.10-48! and for that reason the mailing-list is the perfect place. and reporting the bug was my secondary task in this case. -- einen schönen Tag noch DI Rainer Klier Abteilung IT - Entwicklung ECOLOG Logistiksysteme GmbH Bauernstraße 11, A-4600 Wels Tel. ++43/7242/66200 Fax ++43/7242/66200-200 mailto:kra@ecolog.at http://www.ecolog.at --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org
