Hi I have set up Linux as a server at my Dad's office. Is there any way of redirecting all mail sent to root and my username ('andrew') to my email address at home? Is this done via the 'aliases' file just like any other alias (i.e. 'root' is an alias for 'someone@somewhere.com')? I think all you do is make a file called ".forward" and in that file put the email addy of where you want to have the mail go.. there is more then likely a more glamorus way of doing it but this works for me cause its easy to set up and change.. Ron Andrew Smith wrote:

Additional info: .forward requires you te have a valid user account. Using the /etc/aliases file make it possible to redirect any email address.
