If I recall correctly the Media-GX chips were only ment for Media-GX boards, not boards that support the 6x86 . . . All of the Media-GX boards/chips I have seen were made as one. As in, the CPU is soldered right onto the motherboard. The "Media-GX System" had integrated sound and video built into the board/CPU, thus why it isn't compatible with other boards. If you want my advice, throw it away. These processors/mobos were about the worst you could find. There are many hardware bugs, but perhaps the linux kernel has workarounds. Is this the same as the Cyrix 6x86, 6x86L or the 6x86MX ? I have a MoB that the manual says it will run these. But the MoB will not run with this cpu. Am I doing something wrong or does this CPU need a special MoB?

BTW, is Cyrix made by IBM?
