... why is it that when I post a link demonstrating that I am willing to learn and that I am on top of the news and that I have a handle on the issue I still get called "ignorant"... ? ... must be because I don't have a clue what a Git is.... usually when adolescent males call me names I have an idea what they have just called me... but this time I'm stumped. By the way, I like your blog site... good job.

Please... remember that the community is not the enemy... I found it... Git... (thanks wiki)
Git is a relatively mild British slang term, used to denote a silly, stupid, annoying, childish or senile elderly person. It is usually used as an insult, more severe than twit but less severe than prat[citation needed] or wanker, and may often be used affectionately between friends. In some southern U.S. states, it is a shortened form of midget, used to denote a short person. The word git first appeared in print in 1946, but undoubtedly predates it. The etymology of the word is a contraction of "illegitamate", or possibly a corruption of the word 'get', dating back to the 14th century. A shortening of 'beget', 'get' insinuates that the recipient is someones misbegotten offspring and therefore a bastard i.e. illegitimate. In parts of Northern England and Scotland 'get' is still used in preference to 'git'. ----------------------------<snip> Well, now, ... I guess I've been called worse. Here in the States someone might have tried the term "geezer". I guess that's one less thing I'm ignorant about now... what a relief it is.

There are 48 *contiguous* states. Alaska is also on the North American continent, so there are 49 states in the continental U.S. (plus one federal district.) That doesn't prove a single thing. That doesn't prove that when they make a mistake they are willing to fix it. That doesn't prove that they are not anti-novell. That doesn't prove the fact that they are not anti-opensuse. That doesn't prove that they are not completely ubuntu-biased. And I tell you why it doesn't prove. It doesn't prove because it doesn't explain why in the last 4 months Ive hard more than 10 people complaining that they had sent announcements to slashdot about 10.2 release and they were discarded. While if someone hurt the shoulder or drinked water in the ubuntu front, it would get 10 news in slashdot. And amusing other news to fill the day like "Chinese Govt Limits Kids to 3hrs of Online Gaming". When you say you are going to prove something, you need also to do it. Its noth enough to simply say you are going to. Marcio --- druid -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I think its high time that /. gets a flood of posts (not 10, ~150) from everyone from everywhere... the more folks that post about openSUSE the more stuff is going to get published. Right? All I was showing today was that /. was willing to undo the unnecessary confusion (FUD) that they helped to create... like a retraction in the newspaper... I thought is was effective. But I do agree that its totally not equivalent to equal time on the front page for openSUSE vs Ubuntu, etc.... no way. -- Kind regards, M Harris <>< -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Ive said that I recall at least 10 times people complained that to me. I imagine, as Im not that famous, that other people that didnt came to complain to me also posted the news. Which means that doesn't justify a thing too. As the way they operate, or their agenda, I couldn't care less, its their site, they do what they want. Thing is that they should simply have the balls to say it. As for ubuntu blind insane ubuntu fanboism, who can blame them... It seems so in vogue nowadays. Just dont ask for people who can see the situation to look at them with good eyes. Hopefully the vast majority of people cant see the situation Marcio --- druid -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Nonetheless, the term "Continental United States" excludes Alaska, despite the fact that it shares the same continent as the "lower 48" (and DC). RRS -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

If you fell like you dont have anything better to do but post, grab the nearest book close to you and go read it. I am unsure if all these personal attacks are just for fun or not. It does not really matter, anyway. Effectivly they degrade the readability of our mailing list. The fact is that people like that can go for a day long flaming about
something (as he did yesterday), ready to throw their hand in a fire
about it's truthfulness, but won't even bother reading 5 minutes on the
matter, when you need /. to give you an opinion something somewhere is
going really really wrong.
