Spamassassin "strange" 0.0 scoring...
Hi List, Previously I had the spamassassin version coming with SUSE9.1, but then installed first the 3.0.0 and later 3.0.1 from the ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/choeger/spamassassin/RPM/9.1-i386/ folder. The stuff works perfectly, with a small exception, that gives ALWAYS 0.0 points for the following tests: 0.0 HTML_80_90 BODY: Message is 80% to 90% HTML 0.0 HTML_MESSAGE BODY: HTML included in message but e.g. the second one here 0.0 HTML_MESSAGE BODY: HTML included in message 0.2 HTML_70_80 BODY: Message is 70% to 80% HTML seems to be correct. Additionally 0.0 stays still for e.g. 0.0 RISK_FREE BODY: Risk free. Suuurreeee.... I didn't modify anything, using the default settings. Any idea? Thanks a lot, Peli

Hi List,

Hi, I'm sorry for my previous mail: actually in the meantime I found the description of the various tests and their default scores at http://www.spamassassin.org/ That data explained my 0.0 entries completely, but this time please let me ask two another questions I didn't find any answer to: 1. When attempting to start the spamd I get this error-message: khazad-dum:/home/balazs # /etc/init.d/spamd start Starting spamd done khazad-dum:/home/balazs # The -a option has been removed. Please look at the use_auto_whitelist config option instead. I didn't change anything; so my guess is, that with the defaults by SUSE it wouldn't like to start. I tried to start it at runlevels 3 and 5 automatically, but it doesn't happen, the error is the same. Could it be fixed somehow; I have no idea, where to change the '-a option' to get it running (for sylpheed's sa-plugin)... (Anyway after the error-message spamd 100% doesn't run.) 2. In few sentence could somebody please explain me, how special tags and their scores could be active on my config, which are NOT listed on the spamassassin's page for tests? I mean there are general tests working by default, and there are still supplementary ones the SA is knowing, and could be turned on e.g. by SUSE as customization?! Two examples e.g. FORGED_MUA_OIMO or UPPERCASE_75_100 . They are active, and see them also in file:/usr/share/spamassassin/50_scores.cf , but not on the SA's webpage. Do I miss something?! Thank you, Peli

1. When attempting to start the spamd I get this error-message:
khazad-dum:/home/balazs # /etc/init.d/spamd start Starting spamd done khazad-dum:/home/balazs # The -a option has been removed. Please look at the use_auto_whitelist config option instead.

I initiate spamd from /etc/init.d/boot.local: /usr/bin/spamd -d -u <log-name> have not had any problems. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos

You probably will'll have to edit the /etc/init.d/spamd script you mentioned above. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
