In SUSE 9.1 I just plugged it in and it showed up in /media/ as /media/usb-xxxxxxx Now the only thing I see is the following message in /var/log/messages: Oct 9 12:27:45 penne kernel: usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 4 houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

houghi@penne : lshal|grep -i entry lshal version 0.5.4 Or do you need other info? There is a LOT there. I can put it online if you want. houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

lshal|less ... and then look for your cameras name. This entry. ;) Or do: cat /proc/bus/usb/devices and quote the snippet around your camera. Ciao, Marcus

Nothing to see concerning my camera. I did a search on the following things: 0bb0 501d oncor (So no confusion with case) amera (So no confusion with case) Also there is no difference wether the camera is connected or not. know that with 9.1, I had to wait a few minutes before I could see the camera the first time. Waited 5 minutes.
Or do:
cat /proc/bus/usb/devices and quote the snippet around your camera.

Hi, Have you tried digikam? I started using it since SUSE 9.3 (used gphoto2 before). Camera - Add camera - Auto-Detect Camera - Select your camera. In /var/log/messages I only see: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2. My camera is an old PowerShot A20 USB. Good luck, Aschwin Marsman -- aschwin@marsman.org http://www.marsman.org

Camera - Add camera - Auto-Detect
Failed Auto detect
Camera - Select your camera.
Did not work either wich seems logical as it is a plain and normal USB camera. And if there is no USB correctly mounted, the software won't see it either. houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html
