I was about to purchase 8.2 but read that the amd k6-3d (i am using the 450 Mhz) is not supported.
I checked the suse hardware database and it said it is only supported up to 8.1
I find that one hard to believe, but I have 8.2 on the way, and I have a K6-3 400Mhz, so I will let you know if someone else doesn't. I am already running a Mantel kernel 2.4.20, KDE 3.1.1, so I can hardly believe something would be so different with the gcc 3.3 stuff (I now have 8.0).
it is hard to believe but i read it on the suse 8.2 product package. It said processors supported amd duron, athlon etc. but did not mention the k6-3d. it also said not including 286, 386 and 486 when it came to intel precessors. Harry A.

Now that makes sense. Since the packages are optimized for i586, it needs that as a minimum. K6-3 is a 586 processor type, so it will work (right Richard). ;-) -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
