URL, and now on startup it gives the message:
"syntax error in httpd.conf file"
The apache webserver will no longer start. this was the page that appeared when Netscape was started and it displayed Tux, tapping his foot in the upper right hand corner. It also listed all the SuSE url's for help. This page no longer appears. Also I updated to Netscape 4.76. I wonder if the Netscape update damaged the apache web page.

Hello:
I updated my SuSE 7.0 with the apache.rpm, from the SuSE updates URL, and now on startup it gives the message:
"syntax error in httpd.conf file"
IIRC this has to do with mod_php module and the mod_ssl module especially if you are using php4 there is an article on this at http://sdb.suse.de/sdb/en/html/leah_70_php4_apache_error.html <p>Actually typing apache status may give you the problem point <p>Hope it helps -- Togan Muftuoglu toganm@turk.net 100% MS FREE Absolutely no component of Microsoft was used in the generation or posting of this e-mail. the upgrade. its not as bad as it sounds... you can either send me a copy of your httpd.conf file and i can look through it for mistakes (syntax errors), or i can just send you a copy of a vanilla httpd.conf file that works, which you can use to replace yours.
jason
p.s. you might want to look for a file by the name of "httpd.conf.rpmnew" - if i'm not mistaken, i believe that during the upgrade process, there will be created a backup of your old httpd.conf file.. and i think that "httpd.conf.rpmnew" would be the name of that backup file.
"rcapache full-status" will tell you more about what's going on with apache

Can you send me the vannilla httpd.conf, that sounds like the easiest option.
TIA
