Im trying to burn a DVD under suse 9.1 (amd 64, yadda yadda) but whenever I
try to do so, k3b (or mroe to the oint growisofs) bails out with the
message that it cannot unmount /dev/hdc ...
burning Cds works just fine.
I've already stopped suseplugger .. and closed all konquerors that had
already mounted /media/cdrecorder, but no matter what, I still get the same
errors.
Anyone have a clue how to prevent this ?
Is there a way to disable the automagically mounting of media/dvd and
media/cdrecorder ?

gerhard,
Not sure if this will fix your problem or not, but I have to add user to the
/etc/fstab entry for my dvd burner on my suse 9.1 box to get dvd burning to
work.

I ended up running K3b as root. That worked for me. Regards, Rocky sysadmin@fleetone.com (Rob Freeman), 6/3/04, -0500, 2:33 PM

I haven't explored the issue, and I don't have all the details with me right now, but whenever I run K3b as non-root, is complaining that there are two programs that require root privileges. anybody else with this issue? it worked fine under 9.0 [snip] regards, ===== Riccardo G. Facchini

Remove the subfs stuff from fstab for those devices
