Re: [SLE] Strange Postfix problem
Hi,
When the mail first comes in it gets deferred. Log says:
Mar 29 02:22:57 sigaar postfix/smtpd[6454]: connect from localhost[127.0.0.1] Mar 29 02:22:57 sigaar postfix/smtpd[6454]: 3FE033687A: client=localhost[127.0.0.1] Mar 29 02:22:57 sigaar postfix/cleanup[6456]: 3FE033687A: message-id=<200403290222.38426.hans@ananzi.co.za> Mar 29 02:22:57 sigaar postfix/qmgr[6183]: 3FE033687A: from=
, size=2162, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Mar 29 02:22:57 sigaar postfix/qmgr[6183]: 3FE033687A: to= , orig_to= , relay=none, delay=0, status=deferred (deferred transport) Mar 29 02:22:57 sigaar postfix/smtpd[6454]: disconnect from localhost[127.0.0.1] Then all I need to do is postqueue -f and the mail goes through:
Check /etc/postfix/main.cf for: defer_transports = smtp If this exists, then remove it or comment it out and reload postfix (as root, postfix reload....from memory) Refer to: http://www.postfix.org/faq.html#dialup for the purpose of this setting. Hope this actually helps! -- Regards, Roland

Thanks Roland. I definitely have that. I'll give it a try tonight. From the web page that looks to be my problem. Thanks -- Kind regards Hans du Plooy Newington Consulting Services hansdp at newingtoncs dot co dot za
