Hi, I have problems listening to mp3 via xmms or to realplayer. Up to couple days ago it was working fine, but now they don'w work. It is strange since sounds in KDE work fine (after reconfiguring sound card). When I play xmms (or try to) I get following message: ** WARNING **: oss_open(): Failed to open audio device (/dev/dsp): Device or resource busy Can anyone help me solve this puzzle? I have Thinkpad A21e and Suse 8.0. Thanks for all the help, Wojtek

With RealPlayer, I dunno. For XMMS, Options > Preferences. Under Audio I/O Plugins, make sure your output plugin is the arts driver. Sounds like you're using the OSS driver. For real audio, there are settings hidden away in mozilla and konqueror to redirect any audio output from plugins to artsd. no idea where the setting is, but it is around. Ewan On Mon, 2002-06-24 at 22:47, Joe Sullivan wrote:
