Hi. On my 9.1 system the Konqueror Filemanager for the user -not the superuser- has changed, so that its the Konqueror Browser that comes up if clicking on the icon at the menubar. How can I get it back to be the filemanager again ?. Erik Jakobsen

Erik: Its sort of hidden, due to the incredible amount of damage you can do with it as root. But it is available, on the System menu / more programs / File Manager I believe. Dig around in that menu. You can always create a icon and give it the command of: kfmclient openProfile filemanagement -- _____________________________________ John Andersen

Hi John. Yes the root File Manger is hidden. I know where its placed. Ok about the icon, and the way to open the File Manager. But the problem was, that the user File Manger has changed to be the konqueror browser, and I want to get it back again. I have no idea what has happened with it. Erik.

Open the properties and check the command to be executed. The browser uses "kfmclient openProfile webbrowsing" and the file manager "kfmclient openProfile filemanagement". Incidentally, the above illustrates an interesting feature of Konqueror. It support profiles. I have listed two of them above. If you go into Konqueror and look under settings, you'll see some items about profiles. Click on "Load view profile" and you'll likely see four choices, which you can select. You can even create your own profiles, so that you can have a customized Konqueor, for certain tasks etc.

And, if you save your browser settings to your filemanager profile then everything tends to look like a browser..... ;-( -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
