System: 486/50U upgraded w/ a AMD 586 133, 64MB RAM, 30GB HD OS: SuSE 7.1 Installed and got 7.1 up and running on the system. Installed the private network interface eth0 (3Com 3c509) and confirmed that it was working correctly. Installed the public network interface eth1 (Cabletron E2100 actual a e2112) and configured it. When I rebooted the system I started seeing an error being written to the text screen and log file that looks like: May 18 17:47:01 Linux kernel: io mapaddr 0xd0023 not valid at e2100.c:309! This error displays anytime the interface is used and/or every 30 seconds or so. Yes, the strange thing is here that the interface actually is working. Just filling the log with this type of error. The error comes in 3s when it hits the address is with the d0000 range. The d0000 range is default if no shared range is selected in the modules.conf. I have tried the other ranges of a0000, b0000, and specifying the d0000 range explicitly (c0000 and e0000 didn't test correctly in the DOS based diagnostic program) same result. My modules.conf file has the following: alias eth0 3c509 alias eth1 e2100 options e2100 io=0x380 I have added the irq=5 and mem=0xd0000 but this doesn't change the symptoms. Any ideas that could help me?
