To everyone that purchased the Lexmark Z52 printer: what software are you using to print photo quality pictures under Linux? The gimp does not support it so I am looking for something I can use to print photos.

The s/w you download from the Lexmark site contains a GUI for configuring the printer. It allows you to specify many things including page size. I don't know what size photos you want to print but it has an 'A6 Card' and Postcard size amongst several others. I used the gimp to load the scanned image and print it. Today I printed a scanned photo of my son on glossy paper at the printers highest resolution and the result was excellent. I think Lexmark have done a great thing for Linux colour printing and hope that the likes of HP, Canon, etc, follow suit. High quality colour graphics printing is essential if Linux is going to be accepted on the desktop and at home. Lexmark have shown it can be done and at a price that most can afford.

I agree. What I just did was to go to http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/ceo/email/ and leave a very respectful message to Ms. Carly Fiorina explaining that while I was a very loyal HP customer for many years now, I went out and purchased a Lexmark Z52 today due to the lack of HP developed drivers for their Deskjet printers. I also explained that it is not enough of HP to support the Linux community by releasing information about their printers and leaving it to the O.S. developers to write the drivers. These drivers are often released many months after the printers are released (if ever), often after the next generation of printers is released.
