[opensuse] UK users help
Hello, Any one in the list in the UK? I need to test a webpage a make sure folks in the UK can view it. My apologies for posting this request to the list. If someone knows of a site in the UK that tests DNS or webpages, that would be most helpful. Many thanks, James -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Why would geographic location matter? The whole idea of the WWW is that viewing is location independant. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Are you suggesting Britain has a national firewall/web content filter? Anders -- Madness takes its toll -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'm suggesting, sir, that the difference between theory and practice, while in theory nil, is in practice often significant. Joe -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The UK is messing up DNS servers to block access to/from the outside world now??

The problem is (among other things) the law. For example, I live in Germany, because of !"§$!"§$§%"§$" people in France, Ebay has blocked everyone outside of the US from the WWII part of Ebay. Consternation! uproar! But that's a server side filter, then. If you control the server, surely you would know if you had put such a filter in place Anders -- Madness takes its toll -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
