I've heard about a company that's specialized in a mini-linux distribution. Apparently they succeeded to fit a whole operating system on a floppy. How the hell did they do that? QNX has been sending a 'unix' demo out for years on a single floppy. It even includes a dialup and web browser, but that's about all. There are several single floppy Linux versions floating around. Because strippng out many of the kernel functionalities and using compression to keep the total files size below 1.44MB limits what you can do. Forget Xwindows and GNOME or KDE and g++ or ddd, etc... But, for certain applications where X is not a factor and the app is limited....
