[opensuse] Quanta+ unable to scan remote ftp for project files...
Hello all. I'm new to openSUSE, switching over from Ubuntu. So far so good! I use Quanta+ for web development because it has the ability to edit files on a remote ftp site directly in it, within a project. This mimics the behavior of my previous Windows editor, HTML-Kit, nicely. However, in openSUSE 11.0, running Gnome, I can not get quanta to find any files on the remote FTP site in a project. Is anyone able to get this to work, and if so, did you have to do anything special? This has worked for me in other distributions, but I just cant get it to work in openSUSE for some reason. Quanta+ is a KDE application, and it uses the KDE IO-slaves to read/write remote files (via ftp, in your case). Can you edit the remote files using kwrite or kate by itself? If not, I would make sure that you have the KDE ftp IO-slave installed. Mark: That looks like that did it. I found the package that held the kio stuff in the repos, installed it, and it appears to be working just fine now.
