Web cam surveillance
I wonder if the current web cams are good enough to set up in a shop for surveillance, especially at night. I've seen a web page for one product, http://www.x10.com/products/x10_sc21a.htm, but I don't know if it works with Linux, and if it is producing pictures that are good enough to recognise any intruders. Does anyone have experience in this field?
There are l lot of infra-red illuminator with zero or sub-zero CCD camera available for surveillance purpose. Those camera work in total darkness with reasonable picture quality. Not sure about in your country, in Singapore, there are a lot of shop selling this, some camera offer up to 1 maga-pixel which is almost as good as digital camera, very fine quality.
