[opensuse] MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000
I have one of the keyboards mentioned in the subject. According to everything I've read, it should work perfectly (excluding the zoom thing and maybe one or two other extra keys) with openSUSE 11. However, since I got this keyboard 7 months ago, I've had to select a different model in yast/sax because if I choose this model from the list, certain obvious keys like Page Up and Page Down no longer work. And with that or any of the other keyboard models, anything but the standard keys comes up as NoSymbol in xev. I tried digging through the xkb files, but they are so complicated I figured I'd ask for help before I continue down that route. In the time since I've had this, I've tried a number of things to fix this and I have to ask: does Xmodmap mean nothing any more? It doesn't seem to do a damn thing either in /etc/X11 or as .xmodmap in my home directory. So anyway, why would this keyboard model work in everyone's installation but mine? What the crap did I do (and yes, I'm fully prepared for this to be entirely my fault)? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I don't have a solution as to why it does not simply work.. but... have you tried Keytouch (in the repositories)? Maybe it'll help make your keyboard behave (does with mine) and get all your extra keys working at the same time. Yeah, I've tried it, but it's such an inelegant solution, especially when this keyboard is supposed to work without trouble out of the box. And why is my installation alone messed up? Am I missing an update from when I updated to openSUSE 11? If anyone knows how I can repair the relevant files or even create a new keyboard model, it would be greatly appreciated. Heck, I'd even be satisfied with getting Xmodmap working. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
