Keymaps - International Keyboard Layout
Hello Can anyone please tell me, where I can find a good tutorial on creating my own keymap? Currently I have a Laptop with additional letters printed on the keys, which work with MS Win, if I select US-International Keyboard Layout. These letters can be accesed by pressing altGr and the respective key. Any idea where I might find such a thing with SuSE? Thanks in Advance, Christoph Burger-Scheidlin

AFAIK there is no such tutorial ( there is one documentation and that is in Russian)

I can tell you where you can read the various maps /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/symbols geometry of the keyborad is /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/geometry On the other hand there are some parts that SaX2 does not set ( or maybe it does and I have not seen it ) So you can try to use some definitions from these to set the Xkblayout and Xkbvariant options in the XF86Config You can also try Xmodmap. To use it first with the aid of xev find the keycodes and their output and then place them under your $HOME/.Xmodmap -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx
