groupwise on Linux
I have just changed jobs and they are interested in moving away from Windows. I can find alternatives to all their applications but groupwise. Does anybody know of a port of groupwise for linux or an alternative. TIA

I have heard reports of Caldera helping Novell to port groupwise to Linux.. For all who don't know Caldera is owned be the founder, but no longer CEO, of Novell. But then again, SuSE does have a Groupware product :)

I have a feeling it is The Lotus Notes /SuSE 7.0 Combo pack -- Togan Muftuoglu
Yep, Domino works on Linux but unfortuately there's no Notes client and it doesn't look like there's one in the pipeline either :(. *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** On 22/02/2001 at 22:07 Togan Muftuoglu wrote:

No, that's very fortunate indeed :-) Even tho we need desktop applications, we DON'T need the bloat and horror of bLotus Notes and Co. -tosi On Fri, Feb 23, 2001 at 09:42:10AM +0000, Sean Akers wrote:

The NHS in Cornwall made the change to groupwise and ever since I have been stuck with the web access agent and a collection of apps to decode the docs at my end. They even went so far as to block all automatic mail forewarding - just to make life difficult. Roll on groupwise for Linux
Here's a link to that php Groupware thing that someone else mentioned. http://www.phpgroupware.org/. Another option might be Lotus Domino, but I'm not sure if there's a Linux client yet. The server is certainly available. I just received my Linux magazine issue for this month, and noticed that SuSE has an ad for their Groupware server with Lotus Domino. Might that be of interest? Victor Cardona
