Hello SuSE folkz, I've attempted to install libxine-0.9.13.rpm and it complained about absence of libxvidcore.so Could somebody please tell me what SuSE 8.1 package contains this library or where I can get it? Thank you in advance. Alex
Hi Alex. I had the same problem about one hour ago when i discovered it's in a RPM package called "xvid-0.20020412-4.i686.rpm". You can find it and download it from this url : http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/~jcm/skyblade/XINE-0.9.13/i686.RPMs/ I found everything concerning Xine on this url : http://xine.sourceforge.net/ Hope it helps! /Richard

Richard, Thank you very much for the link The only one question left is how to make raw device for dvd access. What are the major and minor numbers for this device? Why xine needs to access dvd as a raw device? Thanks again. Alex -------------------

major 162, minor 1-, as described in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/devices.txt, but you should already have 15 of them pre-made by the installer.
Why xine needs to access dvd as a raw device?
It doesn't, but it helps a little, apparently. I'm running it without raw access and it works fine on my hardware. Anders
