Can use makeSUSEdvd for the forthcoming SUSE 10 release?
This is especially directed to houghi, but since the answer may interest the list I post it here. I successfully used makeSUSEdvd to convert the five RC1 CD ISOs to a single DVD ISO. Will the same be possible with the SUSE 10 Gold CD images too? Thanks. SS.

I am not houghi but you will be able to make a DVD from the new Suse 10, just make sure you are in the directory where you have the iso's Walt

The script uses SUSE* as its input, so I would think it does ... I have used it successfully to create an OES DVD by just changing SUSE* to OES* in the script. Andreas

Mmm. Perhaps I should delete that. The only thing that you need to pay attention to is that it. As to the OP. I have no idea and as long as I have not tried it. BTW. It already is 5 hours the 6th. Where are the ISO's? ;-) houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

We always announce ISOs when we're awake and ready - general announce time was so far 10ish. Today it might be a few hours later since we have some extra ISOs to sync out...
houghi
I was it at ftp.suse.com, SUSE-10.0-CD-i386-GM-CD1 - CD5.iso waiting for the torrents.
Yes, we still have to make those this morning before the announcement... Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

Just one question regarding the content. Do the 5 CDs hold the same packages as the DVD for 32bit? or as with 9.3 are there packages on the dvd, but not on the cds? thanks, rauch

No.

Also. There is first a difference betwee the OSS and the standard version. Further there is a difference between the CD's and the DVD's. Both URLs have been posted before. Novell offered the standard(retail) version for download? (SUSE-10.0-CD-i386-GM-CD1.iso). I had thought only the OSS version (SUSE-10.0-CD-OSS-i386-GM-CD1.iso) will be downloadable. Ain't the standard version intend to only be deliveried through boxed CDs and DVDs?

That's a good question, we can choose between the "2 versions" without any limit or fee ?

Doesn't look as if I'll miss any of these packages a lot.
houghi, this refers to only the dual-layered DVD that is sold. I think Rauch was asking about the 3.5 GB DVD image that is downloadable. As to that, it contains the exact same stuff as the CDs. ftp://mirror.switch.ch/mirror/suse/suse/i386/10.0/iso/README.txt says: SUSE-10.0-EvalDVD-i386-GM.iso Same content as CDs on one DVD SS.

I have used it successfully to create an OES DVD by just changing SUSE* to OES* in the script.
Pardon, but what is OES? I recently downloaded the CD images of CentOS 4.1 from http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/centos/4.1/isos/i386/ - will I be able to make any modifications to the makeSUSEdvd script and make a DVD out of it? Thanks. SS.
