[SLE] doc convert tiff to pdf
Has anyone used linux to convert documents from tiff to pdf. We are about to convert a large amout of scanned documents We looked at mac and nt solutions but what about linux. What software is available for ocr, pdf writting, and doc conversion any info much appreciated? Well. I had the problem of a lot of large scale maps that needed to be
printed. They came in compressed tiff format. As a side effect, your
problem is only slightly different:
I used tifftopnm to convert tiff's to portable anymaps, since these
appeared to be supported for the next step.
tifftopnm sadly couldn't be convinced to read from stdin, but that's not
a with your problem. pnm can be converted to PS with pnmtops and PS can
be converted to pdf.
