sane in suse-7.3 not working for an Epson perfection 1240
Hello, today I discovered that xsane could not find my scanner, an Epson Perfection 1240 USB) after upgrading from suse-7.2 to 7.3. My configuration looked okay to me, after double checking. To prove I went back to the 7.2 rpm packages of sane, xsane and gimp. (X)sane recognized m scanner immediately... To prove that Xsane is not the cullpritt I installed the 7.3 version, which works okay as well => Something wrong in sane-1.0.5-71.i386.rpm? (BTW: kooka (kde's scanner application) works now as well). Did anybody else have the same experience? /dist/suse-7.2/full-names/i386/sane-1.0.4-79.i386.rpm /dist/suse-7.3/full-names/i386/sane-1.0.5-71.i386.rpm -- Richard Bos For those without home the journey is endless

What seemed to work for me was to follow the instructions on the xsane site, and updateing the config files for the epson config as supplied by the site. Unfortunately it seems to be down from this end......But I have the same scanner and it works well....well um lets say it used to work. RMA currently in process...:) Best Chris H.
