I get message below when I tried to read any article in the NYTimes today. Never had a problem in any browser or OS before or even now with Konqueror yesterday or with windoz laptop when i went to it today to read the Times. I did tell Konqueror not to accept cookies as i was inundated with them. I am a 'subscriber' to the NYTimes site so shouldn't need cookies to read each article.

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I am also a registered Times reader and found that I was unable to read the article listed below while rejecting cookies from nytimes.com. Once I enabled cookies, Konqueror read the page no problem. So, in this case, I think if you want the nytimes content, then you've got to take their cookies. Gracia M. Weird. I just logged into the NYTimes site and the article displayed fine. I'm using Konq in 3.0.1 if that matters. -=Ben --=====-----=====-- mailto:ben@whack.org --=====-- If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little. -GC --=====-----=====--

I have the same policy; if I *have* to accept cookies, I move to another site. Unfortunately, that's true with many sites, but not in this case. I logged in without any problem. For personal reasons, I prefer to use Mozilla instead of Konqueror, but I don't think it would make a difference. -- Regards, gr, in /usually/ sunny, balmy Florida's Suncoast.

I use junkbuster. I have kong set to accept all cookies, but I set junkbuster to only certain sites to read their cookies, nytimes is one. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org

This is your first problem -- you've got the logic backwards. The whole point of cookies is to make the web site remember who you are, so that you don't need to log in in order to read each article. Without them, the NYTimes site has no way of remembering that you're a subscriber. -tara
