Is it my imagination, or does everything open much quicker after upgrading to 3.01 ? Regards Mark A
Yes, it does. You might check out the bunch of updates that were posted yesterday on ftp.suse.com. It feels even a bit faster. They must be squashing some bugs. :) * Mark Annandale (mark@kenge.com) [020602 13:27]: ::Is it my imagination, or does everything open much quicker after upgrading to ::3.01 ? -=Ben --=====-----=====-- mailto:ben@whack.org --=====-- If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little. -GC --=====-----=====--
I just downloaded all of the KDE files. When I run rpm -Fvh *.rpm, I get the following qt3 = 3.0.3 is needed by qt3-non-mt-3.03-14. If I run yast2 -i *.rpm I also get an error on the same file. Got the same error with files from May 30, 2002. Have any idea what the problem is? If you downloaded all the files from supplemental/KDE then you should be able to do this... rpm -Uvh --nodeps --force *.rpm I would suggest putting those rpm's that were in the directory base into base and dev into dev..etc..etc. Then I would go into the base directory and install all of those pkgs then run SuSEconfig. Do the same with dev and apps. Each time after you install a section you should then run SuSEconfig to make sure everything is good. This approach has worked for me since 2.0.1 and I've nearly never had an issue with KDE. -=Ben --=====-----=====-- mailto:ben@whack.org --=====-- If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little. -GC --=====-----=====--
I done this, but now, Yast2 does not work except from the command line.
