I have data in text format files like date temperature telescope magnification etc etc. Can mysql read it in this form? How do I create a database from scratch that it can read? Can someone point me in the direction of some newbie guides on this? All the stuff on the web assumes rocket scientist level! Thanks, Steve.

You do a thing called importing a schema.

Go to www.google.com and type in mysql tutorial you will get a whole bunch of easy to understand tutorials. Look for words like "importing schema tables" to get examples of how to feed your data into mysql. -- $|=1;while(1){print pack("h*",'75861647f302d4560275f6272797f3');sleep(1); for(1..16){for(8,32,8,7){print chr($_);}select(undef,undef,undef,.05);}}
