Is k3b ready for copying prime time? I have had no trouble writing CD-RW
discs but now that I need to copy a CD I get the following out of the
'debugging output':
System
- -----------------------
K3b Version: 0.10
KDE Version: 3.1.4
QT Version: 3.2.1
cdrdao
- -----------------------
Cdrdao version 1.1.7-suse - (C) Andreas Mueller

dd if=/media/cdrom of=/home/<user>/whatever.iso bs=1024k Now you have an iso make as many copys as you wish. Nice thing about Lynux is we have several ways of doing something. CWSIV On Fri, 2004-03-12 at 10:16, fx fraipont wrote:

This is a sure way of making coasters. I hope you read this http://www.troubleshooters.com/linux/coasterless.htm before advising to use dd command without block count. isoinfo is included in mkisofs rpm in SuSE. Regards, -Kastus
In 9.0 k3B is busted out of the box. after removing it with rpm or kpackage www.k3b.org and youll be fine. BTW for the DD dont mount, i am not sure why just load and go. CWSIV On Sat, 2004-03-13 at 09:33, C Hamel wrote:

thats why block size is specified. when it runs you get the actually the only error was in specifying the directory not the mount point it should be dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/home/<user>/whatever.iso bs=1024k CWSIV On Sat, 2004-03-13 at 09:41, Kastus wrote:

I talked about block count, not block size. Reading blindly from device without specifying block count is just a sure way to shoot oneself in the foot. This URL (http://www.troubleshooters.com/linux/coasterless.htm) is for people who don't want to make coasters. Regards, -Kastus
And yet that was the method recommended by the list months ago still no problems creating an iso. then I make copies using K3b. CWSIV On Mon, 2004-03-15 at 15:24, Kastus wrote:
