playing dvd with xine perfectly
I still prefer watch my dvd movies on Windows with PowerDVD. There's no break, no stop, etc. With Xine everything seems slow... a. (I've a k6-II 500Mhz, 256RAM, HD 40Gb, SuSE 8.0, Kernel 2.4.18, Gnome 1.4)

First of all run 'xine-check' and follow any advice this gives you. There are two common reasons for xine to be slow, not using DMA (as has already been suggested) and using the Xshm rather than XV video output driver. If your video card supports XV then you should use it.
