8.2 Professional -- Upgrade, or Full Version?
Hi all: Making the not-so-huge jump from 8.0 to 8.2 soon. Is buying the Upgrade version worthwhile, or would it better in the long run (i.e. less hair-pulling headaches) to just cough up the extra cash for the Full Version? Tks mates. V/R, TBissell

Get the upgrade, all it is missing is all but one of the manuals. However, the manuals are on the DVD/CDs.

if you're happy with the documentation that came with 8.0 and don't require very much hand holding now, then get the "upgrade" boxed set... the disks inside are /exactly/ the same as those that come with the 8.2 Pro boxed set, but you don't have so many days in the support period and you only get the administration book (which is pretty comprehensive anyway). :) In short, as far as I'm concerned, the upgrade IS the full version...

I ordered the "upgrade" package and received the "full (2 books, admin and user)" set plus the t-shirt. They must have been short of the upgrade version or I received what I ordered. The box says 8.2.pro, NOT upgrade. Ken Schneider

Tks Paul for posting, and helping me make up my mind. Considering that I rarely crack open any of the 8.0 books (besides the big reference book), and have never done anything in the way of asking for formal SuSE Customer Support, I'm sure that I can do without the excess material, et al. Cheers. V/R, TBissell
