Fred Fred,
You and me both. Frustrating, ain't it? I think part of the problem is Mozilla has attempted to implement a more uniform method of working with plugins. I have the feeling not everybody has bought into this. It's my understanding RealPlayer for Linux is "community supported." IOW, if it's broke, don't tell *us*, but if ya' fix it, let us know. And here again is why I want the *Juggling Knives* book. I see it as a handbook for home hackers. A place for Linus Torvalds wannabes to get started. Personally, I think Konqueror is a great little browser. Got some bugs, but it's come a loooong way from the days when Dee pointed me to the KDE alpha site. Thanks Dee. Konqueror is great, but Mozilla is important in its own right. They are attempting to produce an internet client which will compile from the same base on just about any platform. They are also pushing hard for vendor independent standards. Lots of people speak of Netscap and Mozilla as if they were equal in negative impact to that other company. I recommend the first few pages of: ftp://ftp.XEmacs.org/pub/XEmacs/docs/letter/internals-letter.pdf.gz And then ask yourself, would you want this guy dating your daughter? http://www.xemacs.org/Images/jwz.jpg Probably not! But still, Mozilla has some honerable roots. Steve

Steve Whoops!
ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/docs/letter/internals-letter.pdf.gz Sorry, spellchecker got ahold of it.
Had problems too getting it to load as a plugin...Then I thought maybe its not a plugin? Now I treat it as a seperate app. Is there a way in Netscape to launch an app on a specified file? The name of the realplayer app is realplay. I have managed to get that shockwave stuff to work on Mozilla... Just my 2 cents... Matt On Mon, 19 Feb 2001 20:57:12 Steven T. Hatton wrote:
