I've gone through all the Control Panel options in root and can't find how to add the "reboot in WIndows" option to the exit menu. Interesting to note: Options to reboot in were there initially on first install. After I had logged out and restarted they dissapeared. Haven't done a online system update on this new install yet though as it seems to always stop at 5%. thanks in advance...

It seems options in the KDE Control Center -> Personalization -> Session Manager cannot be modified. Only "Login as different user", Turn off computer", and "Restart computer" are there.

It's probably handled by the "Confirm logout" switch in the same form.

In this case I go to the directory where YOU stores the downloaded file (/var/lib/YaST/patches/i386/update/8.0/*) and watch the progress via "watch ls -l". -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se

Have to say this is pretty cool.

You really can't edit that in any detail. That dropdown box is generated by lilo, and if lilo has any sort of error messages or warnings or diagnostics when you do "lilo -q" the code can't understand the output and the box stays empty. What you need to do first is run /sbin/lilo -q to make sure the extra messages don't indicate any serious errors, and if they don't, put nowarn somewhere in the beginning of /etc/lilo.conf and run /sbin/lilo. After that you should get the reboot choices the next time you log out. regards Anders

Yes that worked very well thank you.
I'm not sure if this was answered. If you are talking about the shutdown menu, with the option to reboot Linux or Windows, I think you want to add Windows to your /etc/lilo.conf, which you can do through the YaST2 bootloader options. On 22 Jul 2002 at 7:17, Thom Nuzum wrote:
