Hi, I want to convert my double-layer DVD from SuSE (original DVD) to 2 normal DVD's as my portable cannot read the double-layer DVD. I've made an iso-image of the DVD & wanted to remove all 64bit-stuff from the DVD, but i cannot edit the ISO under Linux, remains ro, even when you see rw in the mount-list. Who can help me ? Kind regards, Franky.

Instead of converting the CD, why not try a network install. The DVD contents can be shared from any Linux or Windows computer. Then boot from the 1st CD. At the first screen, hit F3, then F4, to do a network install.
Hi James, Virtual impossible, as the PC has no possible connection to the network. Greets, Franky. On Friday 21 October 2005 18:43, James Knott wrote:

Here's the script I used to clean off the unwanted files after loading everything to a disk. I loaded the DVD to: /backup/suse10/ #!/bin/sh # Rsync the entire directory over cd /backup/suse10/suse/x86_64 # RM * remove the entire contents. cd /backup/suse10/docu rm de/* rm es/* rm fr/* rm it/* rm ja/* rm pt_BR/* rm zh_CN/* rm zh_TW/* cd /backup/suse10/boot/loader ls --color=never *64* | xargs rm cd /backup/suse10/suse/i586 ls --color=never aspell-[a-z]* | grep -v -- -en- | grep -v devel | xargs rm ls --color=never OpenOffice_org-[a-z]* | grep -v -- -gnome- | grep -v -- -kde- | grep -v -- -Quickstarter- \ | grep -v -- -en- | grep -v -- -galleries- | grep -v -- officebean | grep -v -- -mono | grep -v -- -hunspell | xargs rm ls --color=never ispell-[a-z]* | grep -v american | grep -v british | xargs rm cd ../noarch ls --color=never yast2-trans-* | grep -v -- -en | grep -v -- -stats | xargs rm ls --color=never suselinux-manual_[a-z]* | grep -v _en | xargs rm ls --color=never susehelp_[a-z]* | grep -v _en | xargs rm cd ../setup/descr ls --color=never packages.[a-z]* | grep -v .en | grep -v .DU | xargs rm I then wrote the new DVD with: #!/bin/sh # EXECUTE THIS FROM THE /BACKUP/suse10/ directory /usr/bin/growisofs -Z /dev/hdb -J -r -l -no-emul-boot -b \ boot/loader/isolinux.bin \ -c boot/loader/boot.cat -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table . Lots of luck.
