Re: [SLE] Time for a SUSE bugzilla?

I'm wondering it anyone on this list has discussed the need for a SuSE bugzilla like Redhats?
SuSE already has one: http://bugzilla.suse.de/ Unfortunately it's not publicly available - you need to have a username/password to enter the site.
The reason why I am asking, is that I find the feedbackforms that SuSE provide sorely lacking in both functionality and feedback. I like to give feedback to some packages that I use (cyrus-imapd, openldap, etc) so that they may become better.
Even though the SuSE feedback people do not reply in most cases, your feedback usually ends up at the right places.
However, the feedback forms do not make it possible to add patches, specfiles of follow up to see if the feedback has been considered or dropped.
In that case, you may want to send your mail (including the patch) to feedback@suse.de instead (I hope that one still works, too). Followups should be possible by keeping the ticket ID in the Mail subject.
Is it just me, or do others agree on this?
It is impossible for SuSE to generate perfect packages all the time, and more user feedback would increase the quality of the distro. All other distros have gone down this route to get better quality and testing.
I fully agree. But I doubt that this will change :(

And I hope it does not change after seeing the bugzilla entries from fop-dev. The beta programme in my opinion works good -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx

Email suse-beta-e-subscribe@suse.com and the list owner will send you a questionaire about your experience, etc. If he approves then you are given access to the beta ftp server, bugzilla, etc. -- -ckm
